We've sent and received so many samples lately and it's been fun to have everyone sipping on some of the same whiskey during Friday Sips Live. Today, we'll take some of the samples we've received and taste them blind and live! I came up with what I think is a clever idea to ensure both me and Dan get to have the fun of tasting whiskey unknown to us. QR codes. I created a QR code for each sample that linked to the website of the whiskey in question. Then I moved the labels leaving only the QR code for reference.
As a side note, whiskey brands need to do a much better job with their own websites. The product pages, if they even exist, on brand sites are pitifully devoid of meaningful information and often, there isn't even a specific page link for an expression of their product. I had to use some review pages or retail sales pages for this experiment. Perhaps more proof that whiskeys popularity has jumped the shark. Brands know they don't even have to try that hard to sell every bottle.

On a non-whiskey note. You probably know that we also produce some excellent bicycle content. Slow Guy on the Fast Ride is focused on road and gravel cycling. Dan hosts a podcast and we put out a fair amount of gear-focused content. Our Lemme See That Videos are a hoot and valuable and we also do longer-form, written, and video reviews of road and gravel cycling gear. We also just launched Dawn Patrol MTB which is focused on mountain bikes as the name suggests.
At the moment, it's just me and Dan cranking it out, and when we can with our limited resources, we pull in freelance writers. We really want to provide diverse insight into cycling but we don't want to ask others to work for free (like we do so far) so we're asking for your support (beyond watching us, which we so greatly appreciate).
