We got to wondering if older whiskey is always better, why are some of our favorite bottles not very old? We love Booker's and it's only 6 to 7 years old. What about Pikesville Rye at 6 years, Wild Turkey 101 without an age statement but known to be 6 to 8 years old, or the well regarded Willet Family Estate 4 year rye? Why do we still covet 10, 12, 15 year old whiskey or even older? We start with a Knob Creek 15, move to a 14 year Barrell Bourbon, and then we open up a great Booker's release and even try younger local Boulder Spirits Bottled In Bond and more. Turns out, old whiskey is good and it has got something younger can't have but the same can be said in the other direction too. Really, we enjoy such a wide range of whiskey so maybe we'll just keep drinking it all.Notes:We really enjoyed the Boulder Spirits Bottled In Bond Bourbon. Check that and more out at https://boulder-spirits.com. It does look like distribution is limited to Colorado at this time.
