Every bottle of bourbon can't be wonderful. Sometimes the whiskey just isn't good and sometimes it's made well but still doesn't line up with what you want or like in a spirit. That's just part of the process of finding and tasting whiskey. You win some, you lose some. In this video, I talk about a well make bourbon from Woodford Reserve that just has some notes that I believe are from the use of malted rye that just tastes off to my palate. I also take a sip of wheated bourbon from Breakers that tastes like they swapped the heads and the heart of the run. More like a bourbon flavored cleaning product. I'm sure somebody would like it but that somebody isn't me.
