Open the Bottle - Wyoming Whiskey Outryder American Straight Whiskey
Wyoming Whiskey states the specs of this whiskey as "This Straight American Whiskey is a blend of two distinct mashbills, an almost Rye Whiskey and a High Rye Bourbon, that represents Wyoming Whiskey’s first use of Rye." So, plenty of rye and it shows. It isn't age-stated but it doesn't drink so young nor does it drink 100 proof. It's a sweet sipper with plenty going on under that sweetness and lush mouthfeel. We like this one even if the near $70 price tag seems a bit much. Would we buy it? Yes, we would/will. The number one reason is that Outryder is just different. It really isn't a high-rye bourbon or a rye whiskey - it's something else and that's a good thing.
We'll sip just a bit more and go 'Back to the Bottle' soon but our first reaction is this is a bottle that you should have on your shelf, open, and quickly disappearing!
